ALEXANDRA TOWN COUNCIL.
The adjourned meeting of the Council wa 8 held in t : io Council Chambers, on Friday evening last Present: the Mayor, and Councillors Jack, Berosford, and Theyers. The minutes of previous meeting were read and con firmed. Inward correspondence read and received, Outward read and approved. A letter was read from the Secretary for Land and Works' office, enclosing a list of sections grant* 1 to the Corporation, as also list of Public Reserves within the Munici.

Accounts to the amount of £l6. 6s. Gd. •wore passed and ordered to be paid. 4gP According to notice, Cr. Jack moved, and wa3 seconded by .Cr. Beresford, that this Council memorialise, the Colonial Secretary praying that the.district of Alexandra be created a separate district, under the " Petty Sessions Act, 1865." Carried. Cr. Jack also moved, and was seconded by Cr. Theyers, that this Council memorialise his Honor tho Superintendent, praying that thedistrict of Alexandra bs proclaimed a licensing district.—Carried. The Town Clerk was instructed to draw np both these memorials. Proposed by Cr. Theyers, seconded by Cr. Jtc'c that the Town Clerk write to his Honor the Superintendent, calling hisattention to former communications respecting a Commonage for this district.—Carried. The Town Clerk was instructed to call for applications for Valuators for the year 1868-9. •
Proposed by Cr. Theyers, seconded by Cr. Jack and carried, that the Mayor, and
Councillors Jack and Beresford, wait on Mr. Pyke the R.M. with reference to holding Courts under the extended Jurisdiction Act, at Alexandra as formerly. Notice was given by Cr. Jack that he would move at next sitting that the meet, ings of the Conncil he held every alternate Friday, at 7 p.m. instead of Wednesday as at present,
