CLYDE TOWN COUNCIL.

An extraordinary meeting of the Council was held on Saturday evening last at nine •o'clock.

Present, James Hazlett Esq., Mayor and Councillors Kastie, Fcraud, Ziele, Cambridge, and M'Connoehie, Proposed by Councillor Feraud, and seconded by Councillor M'Connoehie :—''That •a deputation consisting of the Mayor, Conn tiller Ziele and the mover wait upon Mr. Warden Pyke, to ascertain the consequences of the removal of Mr. Harvey, the Clerk of the Court, from Clyde to Cromwell, and to report at once to this meeting. Carried. U ion the return of the deputation, the Mayor reported that they had waited upon Mr. Warden Pyke, and Mr. Pyke had informed them that he had written to the Government about the removing of the Clerk of the Clerk of the Court, but had received no reply, and that he would advertise in the " Dunstan Times " on Friday next the holding of the Extended Juristic tion Court at Cromwell, instead of Clyde, aid that that would amount to the closing of the Extended Jurisdiction Court at Clyde.

Proposed by Councillor M'Connochie aid seconded by Councillor Feraud :—" 1 hat a deputation be sent to Dunedin from this Council to wait upon his Honor the Superintendent and his Executive to represent the great and serious losses that would accrue to the inhabitants of Clyde, to prevent if possible the removal of the Cierk of tho Court, and also the removal of the Extended Jurisdiction Court from Clyde to Cromwell." Carried. A vote of thankß to the Chair closed the rollings.
