CLYDE. September 17.' (Before V. Pyke and J. D. Feraud, Esqrs.) J. Martin was charged with being drunk and disorderly. Fined 40s. and costs. September 18.

.•■ J. Dohoney was charged on the informa tion of the police with being a lunatic. The Bench orderei a discharge, the demeanor of the accused being most orderly and sensible. September 21.

Alfred Motherstone was charged with lunacy. This was the man who had made such a savage onslaught upon Constable Hunt and Mr. Colclough, at the Cardrona. There being no doubt of his insanity he was committed to the Dunedin Lunatic Asylum.

BLACK'S. (Before Vincent Pyke, Esq,, R.M. and Warden. Chappie v. Gumming.—Claim for £5 ss. Judgment, £3 3s. and costs. Lyons v. Welch.—No appearance of defendant. Judgment by default, with costs. Needham v. Kealing.—This was a case under Section 3, Regulation 21, of the Goldfields Pules and Regulations, Adjourned. Several applications for extended claims, head and tail races, 4c, were heard and disposed of.

CROMWELL September 16. Police v. Box.—Allowing pigs at large in Qromwell. Fined 40s. and costs. Hedland v. Goodger.—Claim of £3, for the destruction of a goat by defendant's dog. Judgment for £2 and costs. Strahan and Barker v. Kelly.—lnjury to a water-raco by defendat fencing in more ground for a residence area than that which he had pegged off. Judgment—That Kelly confine himself to his original pegs and paycosts

Barnard ancl party v. Kemp and Halliday. —Thatthe defendants had ceased to use their head-race for nine months. JudgmentFined £5, complainants' expenses (£3), and costs. Two months allowed to put the race in repair.

Werner and party v. Edwards and patty. That the defendants refused to allow complainants to obtain one sluice-head of water from Mason Gully, for which they hold a license. Judgment—Dcfendents to allow the water as claimed, and to paycosts.

About a dozen applications to the Warden under the Goldfields Pules and Regulations were also dealt with, and other minor business transact*'.
