CROMWELL. TOWN COUNCIL.
The usual meeting of the Town Council was held on Holiday, tho 3rd day of Feby. 18(13. Proposed by Councillor Whetter and seconded by Councillor Edwards : —"That Mr George Jeaora be appointed acting Town Clerk,, in the room and stead of Mr. It. F. Badger dismissed, ana that all the property of the Council, in Iris possession bo delivered over to the acting Town Clerk." Carried. A special meeting of the Council was held on Tuesday the 11th ir.st. Proposed by Councillor Smitham, and seconded by Councillor Kidd :—"That the acting Town Clerk write to the Colonial Secretary, requesting him to cause the withdrawal of the appointment of Registrar of Birth.3, Deaths, and Marriages, from the late Town Clerk, Mr. R. F. Badger.'* Carried.
