DUNSTAN JOCKEY CLUB RACES.

Stewards—Messrs W, Frazer, H. Loughnan E. TnrnWll, J, A. Douglas, J. G- G. Glass ford, J. Hazlett, C. Shaw, and H. S. Thomson. Judge—H. W. Robinson, Esq. Starter, W. Grindley, Esq.. Clerk of the bourse R. M'Morran Esq. Secretary, Martin Marshall. The attendance on the course was not so large as upon the occasion of the last meeting. Christmas as was anticipated proving a bad time for holding races. This will doubtless be remedied next year by the Race meeting being held in February. The course was in excellent condition, the improvements made by the Stewards were highly appreciated. The arrangements of the Grand Stand surpassed anything of former years. Host Ryan of the Bcndigo had fulfilled his contract to the letter, Booth Nol occupied by Mr Winstanley was replete with everything that the pleasure seeking public could desire. A Band of co--1 ired serenaders enlivened the intervals be tween the events, but their throats seemed rather hilssy, probably on account of the large quantities of dust, which in displacing their vocal abilities, they were compelled to swallow. However everything upon the whole passed off well.tho only regret was, that the Stewards, had chosen the wrong time of the year for holding the meeting. The Starter Mr W Grindley and the Clerk of the Course Mr R M'Morran acquitted themselves as of yore, and it would be extremely difficult to find better men to fulfil those duties. Idle Boy quickly ponced into the first place, and occupied it for nearly a mile, when Musician pulled gently to the front, and looked for all the world a winner, but at the last half mile he had to give place to Poison who won by several lengths.
