The nomination for the East Coast election is fixed for the 'Jtli proximo, and the poll will be taken on the 16th. A private cablegram received by tho United Press Association from Hobart this morning states that Mr Fergus, M.H.R. for Wakatipu, had met with an accident, and had been confined to his bed for some time. The report that he intended resigning his scat is untrue. ■ New Plymouth, This day. Mr Kelly, M.H.R., addressed his constituents last evening, when a vote of confidence was carried. Ciieistohuech, This day. A definite reply has not been received from Sir Julius Vogel as to whether ho will become a candidate for Stanmore. Dunedin, This day. Mr DoLautour, M.H.R., has intimated that he has no intention of seeking reelection for Mount Ida. . : . :
