Thames, This day. Sir George Grey addressed a crowded and most enthusiastic audience here on Saturday night, the Mayor in tho chair. The speech was mainly devoted to replying to portions of the Premier's speech delivered here last Tuesday, The meeting lasted two hours, and was all through in sympathy with Sir George. In addition to replying to the Premier, Sir George gave the leading portions of the speeches ho had delivered in Auckland and elsewhere. At the close of the address the following resolution, moved by Mr Speight, was carried amid tremendous cheering : —"That this meeting once more welcomes Sir George Grey to the Thames, thanks him for his address, and rejoices to find him as able and as determined as ever to struggle in the interests of the great mass of the people against tho jobbery and oppression of those who too long have ruled the destinies of the country." The meeting broke up with cheers for Sir George Grey. Kaikoura, This day. Mr Mcllwraith, M.H.R. for Cheviot, writes to Kaikoura, stating that he has no intention of resigning his seat. Dunedin, This day. Mr M. W. Green, M.H.R., addressed his constituents at North Dunedin on Saturday night. He spoke strongly in favor of the nationalisation of the land. A vote of confidence was passed, only three hands being held up against it, and an amendment in favor of a vote of thanks only was not seconded.
