FIRES.

CiiEiSTcnuKCH, This day. A fire occurred on Friday night in MiHill's Albion Hotel stables, Lyttelton. Four horses were with difficulty rescued. The building was insured for £70 in the Union office. Timaeu, This day. A six-roomed dwelling house and shop belonging to Mr Taylor, of Winchester, were totally destroyed by fire on Friday night. The stock and furniture were saved. The insurance has not been ascertained. Dunedin, This day. Matheson's store at Kaikoura was burnt down at 4 o'clock this morning. The buildings, together with the stables and two horses, were entirely destroyed. The insurance is in the colonial office, £300 on the buildings, and £800 on the stock. The origin of the fire is unknown.
