NEW PIPES FOR SOUTHERN CROSS OIL WORKS.
CmusTCHtmcH, This day.
The new pipes for the Southern Cross Petroleum Company, which wore brought by the Tongariro, were shipped on Friday last to the company's works per Southern Cross. These pipes were manufactured at the Boston tube works in the United States expressly for the company, and are of very superior quality, half an inch in thickness, and Sin. in diameter, and 20,000 feet in length. They were inspected in Lyttelton by the directors, and were considered admirably adapted for passing through the broken rock which has caused so much delay to the company's operations. Boring will now bo resumed at once, and there is no doubt some definite result will be arrived at.
