Meetings. HAAVKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. A GENERAL MEETING of Members will be held on TUESDAY, the 12th instant, at 2 p.m., at the Jockey Club Rooms, Tennyson-street, Napier. BUSINESS— Captain Russell to movo, —"That the continuous increase in' the value of property in the vicinity of Hastings points to the probability that the land leased us a racecourse to the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club by the A. and P. Society will, at the expiration of the present lease, be of such value as to render unlikely the renewal of the lease on terms advantageous to the Jockey Club, and therefore a sub - committee be appointed consisting of Messrs. J. N. Williams, W. U. Burke, and the mover, to inquire and examine what blocks of land suitable for a racecourse can bo obtained and at what price, and to report to a special goneral meeting to be convened for the purpose of considering their recommendations."
