Mr Monteith will hold an auction sale of horses and farming plant at Taradale on Thursday, and on Friday will soil 50 head of cattle'at the Shamrock sale yards.

Acceptances for Mr Stock's handicap, among members of the Wanderers' Bicycle Club, close on Saturday. A general meeting of members of tho Hawke's Bay Jockey Club is convened for Tuesday next, to consider a motion to be submitted by Captain Russell. In addition to the Woodville land to be sold by auction by Mr Lyndon- at his land sale on Tuesday next, ho has received instructions to offer three other valuable sections in the same township. The sale of the Temperance Hotel and section by Messrs Banner and Liddle is postponed till the 20th instant.
