RESIGNATION OF THE PREMIER AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE MINISTRY.
AVellington, This day. The Hon. Frederick AVhitaker tendered to the Governor on Saturday afternoon his resignation as Premier owing to private business requiring his attention. The resignation was accepted by his Excellency, who thereupon sent for Major Atkinson and entrusted him with the duty of forming a new Cabinet. Major Atkinson undertook the task.
