Christchurch, This day. Tho letters from Mr T. O. Kelsey re the Alford Forest diamonds are published today. They state that the stones Averc submitted to Mr Alexander Hutton, aud Messrs Garden and Klein, who both pronounced them genuine diamonds. _ Mr Klein considered them equal to Brazilian diamonds, and offered to buy all that could be supplied, but Avhen the cutting test Avas applied the Alford Forest stones would not stand and flew to powder. Both the dealers referred to recommended sinking for the purpose of obtaining better specimens.
