Masterton, This day

An indignation meeting of the Masterton volunteers was held last evening to protest against the conduct of Major Bunny on tho occasion of the visit of the Governor to Mastcrtou. About forty were present, and Captain Donald presided. After several .condemnatory .speeches had been made, tho following resolution was carried unanimously :—" That the Masterton volunteers, after tho treatment they received from Major Bunny on Thursday last, tender their resignation in a body." A petition ■was drawn up to tho Minister of Defence stating the reasons, was signed by all present.
