The New Zealand Refrigerating Company has carried a resolution to increase the capital of the company by the issue of ■1000 shares at £5 each. The company contemplate the extension of the present works near Dunedin and erecting a branch establishment at Oamaru.

The National Mortgage and Agency Company have received returns of sales of their clients' sheep shipped per steamship Fenstanton on her first voyage, which .show a result on 1192 sheep of 3d per lb at Port Chalmers, after paying for cost of freezing, freight to London, and commission. Reckoning about another penny per lb for the skins and rough fat, this gives a very excellent price for the sheep compared with their present value in the local market.
