The fire has throAvn 130 hands out of employment, and a number of tho Avorkmen have lost their tools and arc desiring aid.
The magnificent staircases constructed at the Union Sash and Door Company's factory for the Auckland Savings Bank and Messrs Sargood and Sons ne*v premises Averc to haA-c been delivered at their destinations yesterday, but Avere destroyed by the fire.
