The company have ordered one of Hornsby's vertical double cylinder portable engines, which will cost about £G-50 when erected. The Dart Company (Hape Creek) have new winding and pumping machinery erected, and commenced pumping operations on Tuesday evening. They expect to have the workings dry today." Several large areas of ground in the Waiotahi district have been taken up with the object of floating companies to prove
this locality. The mining element generally is more cheerful.
