Auckland, Thursday

At the Supreme Court the case against Alahuki and his folloAvers, for assaulting Air Hursthouse at Te Uira, lasted all day. A number of ladies Avere present, and also the Native Alinister most of the day. Air H. AVilliamson (Crown Prosecutor) and Mr E. Heskcth appeared for the prosecution ; Mr Earl for the defence, as Air Sheehan could not leave AVaikato. A plea of not guilty avus recorded for the prisoners. Messrs Hursthouse, Ncwsham, Te AVetere, and Te Kcranga, gave evidence, and the jury returned a verdict of guilty, but judgement was reserved till the remaining charges were heard. ,;. .
