Dunedin, This day. The AVaste Lands Board has received a full report from the GoA'ommcut auctioneer concerning the recent sale of deferred payment pastoral lands. The auctioneer giA'es particulars as to the buyer of each section, aa - lio did tho bidding, whose cheque Avas receiA'cd as deposit, kc In regard to one purchaser, named Philip Young, a farmer at Clarence plains, Tasmania, Mr Martin added "In reply to the usual question put by Mr HarloAA", tho salesman, as to the postal addross aud occupation, tho embarrassment and apparent ignorance of the purchaser attracted my attention. I therefore put tho folloAA'iug questions to him :— ' How long haA'o you been hero ? AVhen did you arrive ': Have you ever seen or been in the country r' The ansAvers were:—'l arrived a feAV days ago and'have not seen the country,' and ho could only jha-o Hoharton as his address." Tho Board Avill hold a special meeting to consider the report.
