(Before Messrs E. Lyndon and E. Patten, Justices.) Haves v. Stanley.—Claim £5 Gs 3d. Judgment by default for amount claimed AY'ith costs. Hayes v. R. Rush.—Claim £11 3s 2d. Judgment by default for amount claimed AY'ith costs. Fortune and Black v. Magregor.—Claim £0 3s 2d. Mr Lee for the plaint-ill's. Judgment by default for amount claimed, Avith costs and counsel's fee. Hares v. LaAY'ton. —Claim £10 Is. balance of fifteen Aveeks' Avages at £1 per week. Mr Lee for the plaintiff, and Mr Lasccllcs for the defendant. The defence YY'as that the plaintiff Avas a half-yearly servant. This Avas denied by the plaintiff. yvlio further stated that he could not live in L.'vwton's house OAving to the i'oay-s that Avent on in it at night, and Avhieh prevented him sleeping. After hearing evidence the Bench decided that Hares should haA-e given proper notice before leaving the defendant's seiwice, and for this reason £1 Avould be deducted off the claim. Judgment would therefore bo for the plaintiff" for £0 -is, the plaintiff to pay costs. A number of other cases Averc struck out.
