CHRISTCHURCH.
This day. Further deficiences have been discovered in the Kaiapoi municipal accounts. All the books relating to the dog tax account are missing, except one, which shews receipts to the amount of £40 10s for the first half of 1882, while the cash-book and ledger give the receipts for that period at only £37. The beer duty collected here last year was £13,830, against £13,2G0 the previous year. The Crown Brewery Company has declared a dividend of 10 per cent., and carried a largo sum to the reserve fund.
