This day. The Presbyterian Synod commenced sitting last night, the Rev. Mr Chishohn, of Tokomairiro, being- elected Moderator. The City Council has voted £500 as the Mayor's salary for the year. David Thompson is the name of the engine driver who fell off the train at Palmerstou. He received concussion of the brain. Several of the gentlemen members of the Hon. Ivo Bligh's cricketing- team intend visiting New Zealand.
