Thomas Priestley and Mrs Hamilton were brought up on remand yesterday at the Police Court, before Mr Seth Smith, R.M., charged with the wilful murder of Hugb Hamilton. The Court and approaches were thronged by people anxious to see the prisoners. Priestley seemed to have recovered his health, and, as before, manifested no appearance of tremor or discomposure. He surveyed the crowd with the utmost coolness. Mre Hamilton did not once look round her, but she was quite composed when the charge was read. Mr Tyler appeared for Priestley, and Mr Tbeo. Cooper for Mrs Hamilton. Superintendent Thompson stated that he was not prepared to adduce any evidence at present, aud applied for a further remand till next Saturday. He said that since tbe last adjournment a post mortem examination of Hugb Hamilton's body had been made, and without anticipating or disclosing Jits results, he could say that they fully confirmed him in the course he had pursued in causing the prisoners to be arrested on the charge of wilful murder, and he felt satisfied with the correctness of what he had done. The remand was granted, there being no opposition. The prisoners were then removed from the dock, aod the bulk of those present in Court immediately joined the crowd in the street who were waiting for the reappearance of the accused. There was no attempt, however, at any manifestation of feeling on tbe part of the public.
