At the Fancy Fair in the Theatre tonight a number of negro melodies will bo sung. A special train for the Fair will leave Hastings to-morrow evening at 6.30, calling at intermediate stations, and returning afc 10 o'clock. The fourth half-yearly meeting of the Hawke's Bay District, A.0.F., will be held in the Heretaunga Court room at Hastings this evening at 7.30. Coaches to convey delegates and visitors leave the Criterion Hotel at 5.30. A bay gelding will be sold at the Taradale pound to-morrow if not previously redeemed. Messrs Banner and Liddle's next skin sale will take place on Wednesday, November 8, early entries for which are requested. The Education Board want an assistant mistress for the Norsewood school. Messrs J. E. Martin, Clive, T. A. Hayes, Hastings, J. Britten, Taradale, J. Merrylees and Co., Kaikora, J. W. Thomson, Norsewood, Gr. Gilbert, Woodville, and Palmer and Cripps, Porangahau, have been appointedjeountry agents for the Mutual Fire and Marine Insurance Company of New Zealand. Messrs Blythe and Co. are now showing men's and boys's summer clothing, and are giving Is in the £1 discount for cash. purchases. Mr Henry Lascelles has 400 acres of land in. the Makaretu district for sale on easy terms. The finder of a child's cape, lost last evening in Shakespeare road, will oblige by returning same to Mrs Cooper. Woods' eucalyptis balsam is an efficacious remedy for coughs, colds, asthma, and bronchial affections of all kinds. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted" column.
