WAIPAWA COUNTY NOMINATION.

Waipawa, December 2. The nomination took place to-day at noon. Mr Ormond was nominated by Mr Duncan Guy, and seconded by Mr Edward Bibby. Mr Smith was nominated by Mr Henry Hickey, and seconded by Mr F. Butler. The show of hands was in favor of Mr Ormond. Both candidates spoke at some length. Mr Ormond made a good speech, which was well received. Prior to the nomination Mr Johnston stepped forward and said he had retired from the contest, his friends believing his chances of success to be very weak. He thanked his supporters briefly. There was a good attendance at the hustings.
