WELLINGTON.
October 22. Mr T. Kennedy Macdonald and Co. sold yesterday the properties lately occupied by Mr E. W. Mills and others. The Hon. C. J. Pbarazyn purchased the Lion foundry for £15,500. The total amount of the sale was £30,815. The following intercolonial weather exchange has been received:—Sydney, Friday evening. There is a heavy S.W. gale,"|with rain and high sea, on the southern coast of Victoria, the depression that caused the Sydney gale having moved south-eastwards. The barometer at Portland registers 302, at Gabo 29.7, and at Sydney 29. The Hinemoa left for Opunake last evening with 60 Armed Constabulary. The Secretary to the Native Minister was also a passenger. He visits Parihaka for the purpose of distributing the proclamation which was recently issued. The appointment of Mr Bryce as Native and Defence Minister was gazetted this evening. A new tariff of railway charges will shortly be issued. It is understood that the charges for conveyance of stock and some other articles will be reduced.
