A large number of Ooromandel natives went by train to-day to attend Tawhiao's meeting at Hokianga. They say they will bring Tawhiao back with them. Mr DeLias, with Mr Marshall and his dramatic combination, leave in the Te Anau for Napier to-day. The new North Shore Ferry Company have purchased out the old company. The price is said to be £9000 for the steamers and good-will. The prospectus of the Thames Valley Railway Company is issued, with a capital £400,000, and an influential directory. It proposes to construct a railway from Morrinsville to Lake Rotorua under the District Railways Act.
The Rev. Allan Webb, Baptist minister, has resigned. It is understood that he goes to Adelaide.
