Auguet 19. A meeting was held here last evening for the purpose of forming a society to promote the nationalization of the land in New Zealand in accordance with the principle contained in the pamphlet " Land Ho." An explanation having been given of the scheme proposed, a resolution wag passed in favor of forming a society entitled " The Land Ho Association, No. 1." The movement is meeting with considerable support here, and it is intended to take steps to form branches throughout the colony. The basis of the proposals are the purchase by the State of all freehold properties, and the substitution of a system oflease, with a provision enabling the State to resume possession of a block of land above two thousand acres on payment of fair compensation.
