AUCKLAND.
August 19. The search party have returned from the investigation of the wreck of a vessel between Kaipara Heads and Manpkau, There is no doubt that the vessel is the schooner Rona, and that all hands have perished. The board with the vessel's name on has been brought to town and identified. The natives have burned the vessel down to the copper, in order to hide any signs of pilfering, and to secure the copper. As she now lies the wreck is said not to be worth £10. Two navvies named David Bamsay and John Fallays were drowned while going in a punt to the Lhneburner's Creek railway works. The punt capsized, throwing five men out, and three escaped with difficulty.
