WELLINGTON.

May 10. A despatch has been received by the Governor announcing that the Queen in Council has assented to the Deceased Wife's Sister Marriage Act which was passed by the Assembly last session. Fisher's coal and wood shed (formerly Fisher and Croosker) was destroyed by fire at ten o'clo-"'; last night. The flames bad a good hold when discovered, and as a strong wind waa blowing, the building was soon lowered to tbe ground. Halley and Ewing's saw mills and ceveral cottages in the neighbourhood of the coal yard had a narrow escape from destruction. Tbe shed and contents were insured for £300 in the Union office.
