The receipts of the Volunteer fancy fair amounted to over £500.
The Telegraph Newspaper Company is to be wound up.
The Cathedral is to be opened on August 10th.
The Government have determined to introduce a bill next session embodying the principle of conceding land to the promoters of railway construction in the manner proposed to deal with the West Coast railway.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of W. W. Charters, who is now known to have left in the ship Orari for Londou. It is reported that defalcations to the extent of£2ooo have been discovered in the accounts of the Sydenham Building Society, of which he was manager. The warrant will be despatched by the mail leaving to-day.
