CHRISTCHURCH.

April 1

The Lyttelton Times proprietory has been converted into a limited liability company, but the proprietory is practically the same as hitherto.

A fire occurred in Tuam street at three o'clock this morning, when a. bakehouse and stables belonging to Williams, baker, were destroyed. One horse was burnt to death in the stable, and two others were seriously injured. The origin of the fire is unknown. The property was uninsured.

The weather continues very dry, and the farmers want rain badly.
