At the Port Police Court yesterda seven seame.i on board the Wakatipu charged witk refusing to obey orders, were sentenced to four weeks imprisonment, to be rritigated if they went on board.
The Judge's bharge at the opening of the Supreme Oourt contained nothing new. The Graid JuryjFound true bills against John Gitely fC ,arceny, William Pearce, alias Johnstone, for cutting and wounding, and Robert Muir, for forgery. Robert Muir pleaded guilty to forgery, John Gately was convicted of larceny, William Pearce pleaded guilty to wounding with inteni, and William Adams was convicted of forgery, all being remanded for sentmce. I ignored the bill against Thomas Mitchellfor larceny as a bailie. True bills were returned against Walter Rice for embezzlement in the public service, Alex. McLeod for maliciously wounding, John Hodgkinson for indecent assault, George Schieb for committing a public nuisance, John Christie for horse stealing; and John Russell for breaking into a count-ing-house. The sessions will conclude to-morrow.
Bandmann's company opened at the Queen's Theatre to a fine house last night. At the heads, Auckland, ship, from London.
W. D. Morrison, one of the pioneers of the Tuapeka goldfield, died yesterday.
