LYTTELTON.

January 5. Arrives!, this morning, the New Zealand Company's ship Otaki from London, 100 days out. One passenger and the second steward died of consumption during the voyage. On December 26 and 27 a furious gale was experienced, during which a heavy sea was shipped, flooding the cabins to the depth of four and five feet. The captain's cabin was completely wrecked and most of the contents lost, including charts, books, &c. Captain Devitt, the second officer, and an apprentice, while on the poop, had a very narrow escape of being washed overboard The captain was severely bruised and cut, and the carpenter was also much injured.
