Cabled advice received by the I’nivyrsity of New Zealand from the British Council notifies that the special scholarship for ivomcn competed for in 1913 has been awarded to Aliss A. K. Caughley. Miss C-.aughley is a graduate in arts'of the University of Now Zealand, having completed her master's degree in English in 1938. She took her course at Victoria and Canterbury University Colleges, and has since had cx-porience of teaching in Alasterton, Wellington and Christchurch. ■ The special subject in which Aliss Caughley has elected to do research while in Britain is speech therapy.
