July L The Awupuni candidates who are engaged at the Wellington meeting will gin Hie long trek to Trenthnm on Monday In order to give them time to got over the journey. So far as is known, all of the acceptors will fulfil their engagements. There was a fair amount of work on the course tills morning. Tile galloping took place on the course proper next to the rails. Tlie going was holding. There was also .some hurdling and a couple of outings over the steeplechase fences. Noble Fox and Hurd Frost were sent twice round over the schooling hurdles. Both Jumped splendidly. Tlie Champ was again schooled over three hurdles. His jumping is improving. Anglo-Irish gave a good exhibition over four (lights. Fagan will ride him at Trentham. Po-Huka gave a splendid exhibition in company with Crackerjack over four hurdles. Crackerjaek did not fence as well as ills companion. Ship Ahoy was again given a round over the steeplechase course, and there was nothing wrong with his fencing, though be has still a lot to learn. Kanui te Pai went twice round the country. He gave a finished exhibition, but was inclined to get. in a bit close to some of the brush obstacles. Ascot Bloom and a companion went well iu a school over the country. . , On the course proper. Broleveine and Sunoia took oTsec. for half a mile. Broievelne does not appear to bo at her beat yet. Whaekle registered 1..7 for five furlongs. He may be in need of a race. Classform, who looks a picture, came home over the last three furlougs of a round tn 40 4-5. , , Sir Bradbury rau five furlouga in 1.6 1-5 and did it evenly. The hurdler, Lightfair, went over a mile with Golden Tide in 1.48 4-5, the last three furlongs in 40 4-5. Lightfair will run m the hack hurdles at Trentham. Pennyroyal and Observatory were on terms at the end of six furlougs, run in 1.2-2 4-5. Bownoss will ride this pair next Saturday, . , The hurdlers, Colonel Bogey and Northfield, took 1.53 to run a mile, the last three furlongs in 41. Abdicate and Kinsman, who will race on the second day at Trentham, ran a mile in 1.50 3-5, the last three furlongs in 41 3-5. Authoress was doing better than Greek Effort at the end of seven furlongs run in 1.37 2-5. the last three in 42 2-5. Moderate had Lady Midian as a companion over seven furlongs, in 1.35. In a similar task Hakim and Sporting Gold registered Lot, the last three in 43, with Sporting Gold beating his companion. Sovereign Lad’took 1.30 2-5 to run seven furlongs aud Aristocrat and Bay Robe came homo from the five-furlong peg m :i.io 1.-5.
