Capping week celebrations for Victoria University College, in Wellington, concluded last night with the holding of the Capping Ball, 'the graduates, numbering approximately 100, being the guests of honour. The ball began after the graduation ceremony in the Town Hall, where parents and friends witnessed the conferring of degrees and diplomas. On arrival at the ball, women graduates were distinguished.by the carrying of their graduation boquets, always a feature of’the formal ceremony, lhe large crowd which filled the cabaret was composed mainly of students and t aair friends, together with members of the college staff. The ball, arranged by the executive of the students’ association, concluded at an early hour this morning. The graduates’ supper, ' given for them bv the undergraduates each year on the night preceding the ball, was postponed this time because the- extravaganza sea son was extended and it will not take place till the second term.
