Mr. E. J. B. Matthews has been appointed a member of the Wellington .Suburbs Licensing Committee.

Mr. R. E. Selby, formerly seeretarj’ of the Wellington Commercial Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association and Club, is at present in Rotorua. Brigadier (temp. Major-General) 11. K. Kippenberger, D. 5.0., E.D., has been promoted major-general as from March 1. Lieut.-Colonels (temp. Brigadiers) J. T. Burrows. D. 5.0., E.D., and R. C. Queree, 0.8. E., become colonels as from the same date.

Mr. 11. T. Limbrick, after over 24 years’ membership of the executive of the Waipuwa branch of the Returned Services Association, has resigned the presidency, which he held for 12 yours. Mr. F. li. Logan, Onga Onga. has been elected ns his successor. and Mr. F. Eagle becomes the vice-president. Mr. Limbrick will be n candidate for the Waipuwa mayoralty. Mr. Eagle is not seeking re-election.
