NAZI DESPERATION

Resistance On Dnieper Front LONDON, October 17. A correspondent illustrating the violence of the fighting and the desperate resistance of the Germans on the Dnieper front says that one Russian division in the bridgehead north of Kiev in one week repelled more than 200 counterattacks by the Germans, killing more than 8000 of them. In spite of this, the Russian division further improved its position.
