On the second day she equalled the Dominion record of 29 4-ssec. in a heat ot the junior girls’ championslno oO yards. Possessed of a beautiful ‘style and a modest, unassuming . character Nawi Kera was popular With fellow competitors and it was as a result of a friendship which developed with members of the Otago team at Hamilton that her relatives presented to tlie Otago centre the Nawi Kera Challenge Shield, which attaches annually to the 100 yards Otago junior girls’ freestyle championship.
