LOCAL ELECTIONS
Contests Next Year Now Unit the general election has been held it is probable that Jbe local body elections will take place in the ordinary way next May. The last municipal elections were held on May 1.1,1941, ami it nothing untoward happens in the meantime to cause a postponement, lhq» borough, county, town board and road board elections will be held ou May 20 of next year. Associated with the municipal elections will be the poll for the return of local body representatives on harbour boards and the hospital boards. The preparation of the rolls necessary for the holding of these elections will not begin in earnest till about the end o*. this year, though every returning officer keeps a close watch on the rolls used at the previous election, deleting names and adding others, based on data that comes to him from a variety of sources. Thus he endeavours to keep his rolls up to date, so that bis main task becomes easier as the day of electioniipproachcs.
