DIPLOMATIC STAFF FOR AUSTRALIA
CANBERRA, January 23. Australia is to train its own diplomatic staffs for service abroad. This has been announced by tlie Minister of External Affairs, Dr. 11. V. Evatt, who said Australia’s foreign interests _ and relations, particularly in the Pacific area, had grown enormously. New Legations ban also been established at Washington, Chungking, aud Russia. All this necessitated expansion ot the diplomatic staff. Candidates would have a course of intensive study aud, if suitaide. would be posted abroad. A year's course covering international affairs would be part of the training.
