PLATINUM WEDDING

Sixty-five years of married life ivcre marked by Mr. and Mrs. H. 11. Taylor when they celebrated their platinum wedding yesterday at their residence m Simla Crescent. Khandullah. Mr. Taylor, who is a retired ollicer ot Hie Bank of New Zealand, was born in Leicestershire, England, 87 years ago and joined the bank in Auckland in July. 1873. at the age of 17. He retired in December. 1919, and during Hint time served the bank in various capacities. He was appointed manager of the InglewooU branch at its inauguration and subsequentIv was manager of a number of branches throughout the North Island. Mr. 'l'aylor, Who is the oldest divisional member ot Hie Khundalliih Bowling Club, of which Im was the treasurer for some years, has nlwtivs boon a keen bowler, and is now an elected life-member of the club. Mrs. Tnvlor was born nt Mongoiiui, North Auckland, and has been known as a keen tennis and golf enthusiast. .She is 85 years of age. Latterly her sports interest has been taken up with croquet playing, but owing to adviineing years she'bus ceased to take an active-part tn the croquet, elub. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were imirrted by the Rev. IV. Taylor in Auckland. Their son resides in Auckland and their only daughter, Mrs, IV, F. L. M ard. is lithig in Wellington.
