OBITUARY

Mr. H. J. Cassin The deatli has occurred in Hastings of Mr. Herbert John Cassin, a wo.lknowu resident of Hastings. Mr. (.-assin was born at Ouehunga 69 years ago and had been a resident of Hastings for more than 40 years. He bad also lived in niattv other parts of New Zealand, including Napier, Nelson, Christchurch aud Masterton. Before his retirement from the Post and Telegraph Department in 1931 after I () years’ service, ho was supervisor of mails at the Hastings Post Olliee. He is survived by liis wile, five daughters and three sons, Mrs. M. Downer Napier, Mrs. K. H. Baylis, llastiii'’s Mrs. J. Bacon, Tauranga, Miss Margaret Cassin, Hastings, Miss P. Cassin, Fiii and Messrs. John Cassin, Taradalc, Frank Cassin, Tauranga, and Fred Cassin, who is a prisoner of war in Germany.
