SPECTACULAR FIRE IN SYDNEY
SYDNEY, October 27. Damage estimated at more than £100(100 was done when the most spectacular fire in the city for seven years gutted a five-story factory building in Glebe. The premises were occupied by five manufacturing firms, the 700 employees of which will be unemployed for some weeks at least. Five adjoining houses were wrecked by crashing ni.-i.onry and others were damaged. The cause of the fire is not known. Fifteen thousand people watched the blaze, which was the biggest in -Sydney since Goldsbrough Mort’s Wool store was gutted in September, 1035.
