LIVE STOCK SALES FEILDING.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, October 23. The supplementary cattle fair was held today with a fair offering. Prices for grown cattle remained at about the level of the spring fair, but young cattle were slightly easier, probably because of the somewhat dry spell. However, a very good clearance was reported. There -,was a smaller yarding of fat sheep, with prices ctill easier than previously. Shorn sheep sold at 10/- to 12/- below the prices of woolled £heep. There was a very small entrj r of dairy cattle, with a listless sale. Fat cattle prices wene easy, with no firstclass beef offered. Range of prices: . Fat - wethers, .prime woolly. 35/1 to 33/7: shorn, 26/10 to 28/-; hoggets, prime woolled, 34/- to 30/iv; shorn, 23/7 to 25/10; ewes, prime woolly, 23/10 to 24/1; shorn 12/10 to 16/-. . MASTERTON CATTLE FAIR
MASTERTON, October 22. A good , entry of cattle was forward at the second spring cat.tle fair at Mastertoil yesterday. The cattle were in good “fder and there was an excellent sale, nnu the exception of two-year steers and yearlings. which , were slightly easier prices were up to those ruling at the hist tan, held a fortnight ago, and bullocks were firmer. Outside buyers were not represented in as strong numbers as at tbe last sale, though .they took a lot of Hie J“ r U ing, specially the younger cattle. Most ol the two-year-old and older cattle remained in the district. DANNEVIRKE
The usual monthly cattle fair was held at the Dannevlrke yards when 1000 cattle and 700 sheep were yarded. The quality of the cattle was good, but prices were easier for most lots. The offering included many attractive pens, especially in the fat section, lint here again sales were only made in buyers' favour. Most vendors met the market and a was made. The following is a summary of prices:— Fat sheep: The offering was much larger tlpm usual, the quality being mixed. Butchers were not interested and prices showed u decline of 1/6 to 2/- a head on recent sales. Prime wethers. 32/3 to 31/-.; heavy owes, 23/0; others, 21/- to ,23/-; shorn ewes, 12/(1: hoggets, 25/- to 20/0. Store sheep: The yarding Included all classes and prices were inclined to be easier. Good two-tooth wethers (shorn), 20/- to 21/0; good wether hoggets in the wool, 25/- to 20/0; woolly ewes and lambs, all counted, 10/0 to 17/0. Fat cattle: Prices were definitely easier, the bulk of the offering being secured by a Matiawatu farmer. Heavy cows, I’.A., £8 5/- to £9/8; others, £7/12/0 to £7/17/0; prime heifers. £9 to £9/10/-; lightweights, £7/10/-; Jersey cows, £4/10/to £5/5/-. Store cattle: Yearling steers were easier by 5/- to 7/6 a head; two-year steers, 10/-; arid three-year and four-year steers, 10/to 15/- down. Heifers sold readily and prices were firm on recent sales, especially vearlings, which sold under keen competition. Good-class P.A. bullocks, £B/11/to £9; two-year P.A. steers, £7/7/0 to

Yearling Jersey heifers showed a decline in prices, and lhe top.lots were unsold at £5; others, £3/5/-. to £3/12/6; cull cows, £2/15/- to. £3/5/-.
MARTON
MABTON, October 21. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a good yarding ol cattle and pigs and sundries at the Marton sale to a good attendance. Cattle ami pigs were both In demand. Some extra - good eattJe came forward, and the special entry of I’.A. wearier steers and hellers on account of Messrs. Briant Bros, elicited keen competition. The steers realized £7 5/-, and the heifers £5/17/-. J heese were well bred and In splendid condition. Quotations:— , .
