SPORTS CLUB OPENED
. Six hundred guests were present at the opening on Saturday afternoon ottue Hutt Bowling. Tennis and Croquet Club. .Air. E. F. Hollands, president, asked a member, the Rev. J. Lopdell, to spent briefly on the Campaign for Christian Order. Mr. Lopdell outlined the objectives of this organization, formed to resolve the present chaos into a more sane and Christian mode of life. Mr. Hollands, in otlieially opening the club referred to members overseas, and stated that tvo had paid the supreme sacrifice. Mrs. Hollands threw the kitty and Mi. W. Hendry, club patron, played the first ball. The official parly included Mr. J. W. Andrews, mayor of. Lower Hutt, and Mrs. Andrews, Mr. and Mrs Hendiy, Mrs A. Jenness, president of the eroquet, club'. Mrs. M. Upton, president of the tennis club, and Mrs. A. C. Stevenson, ’club captain.
