Need For Work To Continue
At a recent meeting of-the Wellington Women's Metropolitan Patriotic Committee, presided over by the mayoress, Mrs. T C. A. Hislop, it was reported that the following articles had been supplied by the. committee during Scarves 241, balaclavas 91c, mittens <><>o pairs. The mayoress appeals to the many knitters who have been working so splendidly to continue their good work throughout the summer and for others to give their assistance in making comforts lor men overseas and in New Zealand. Au increased supply of wool is now available and will be issued from the committee’s' rooms, Star Boating Club, Jervois Quay, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 111 and 4 o'clock.. Mrs Hislop reported that satisfactory progress was being made in connexion with the club for servicewomen m Hannah’s Buildings, Lambton Quay, and the opening date would shortly be announced.
