CROSS-CHANNEL DUEL
(Received September 7, 8 p.m.) LONDON, September 6. Heavy guns ou each side of the Straits of Dover were in action tonight. The bombardment was one of the heaviest for a long time, lasting for 45 minutes, during which well over 100 shells were fired. Shells from Dunkirk, Calais and Cape Gris-nez burst near Dover. English and German gunners exchanged shell for shell.
