SANG IN WHEEL-CHAIR

(Received September 7,11.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 6. Miss Marjorie Lawrence, the Australian soprano, resumed her professional career though still suffering from infantile paralysis of the legs contracted 15 months ago. She participated in a radio broadcast, sitting in a wheel chair. She rendered Strauss’ “Devotion,” “Annie Laurie” and “Waltzing Matilda.” Her voice rang out full-throated and strong as she sang with the spirit of triumphant affirmation which marked her singing of Bruennhilde at the Metropolitan Opera House.

Miss Lawrence, who received treatment from Sister Kenny, is now able to walk a few steps and hopes tor a complete recovery.
